The SIM-MAX iPNGM mobile radioactive inert gas monitor is primarily used to monitor the radioactivity levels of inert gases in ambient air. It monitors the activity concentration and cumulative total radioactivity of radioactive inert gases in real time by sampling air from a designated area, and features environmental gamma compensation.

The monitor consists of a sampling module, a detection module, an electronics module, a control module, and peripheral equipment or components.
